Rouge Reverie

Burgundy first, then the dusty rose came in like steam off tea. I worked on it across three weeks and most days I sat with it longer than I painted. The teal at the edge wasn't planned. Something about red on raw canvas — it stops being a colour and becomes a temperature. I don't know what I was thinking about. Something old. A room I haven't been in for a long time.
