Ephemeral Mosaic

Salt on wet violet — the grains pulled little rings I couldn't have drawn. Couldn't tell you now if I made it on a Tuesday or a Friday, or whether it came before Red Serpent or after. Those days ran into each other. The white contour lines went on last, slow, almost like writing. When I look at the six together they feel like one long afternoon.
